With effect from January 11, 2021, applications for attestation of translation of certificates issued in India, duly legalized with Apostille by the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India, may be submitted, by the applicants or by authorised persons, to the VFS Offices:

The translation may be preferably made by the reference translators (list of translators).

In order to be valid in Italy, the documents issued in India require the following attestations by the competent Indian authorities:
1. Registrar of marriage / birth / death or Police Officers;
2. Sub Divisional Magistrate or Deputy Commissioner;
3. Home Secretary of the State Government;
4. Ministry of External Affairs (for the Apostille).
