Italian citizens, who reside in the consular district pertaining to this Embassy and have duly registered in AIRE, can apply for an electronic ID card (CIE) sending an email to consolare.newdelhi@esteri.it.
After verification, the Consular Office will send the applicants instructions about payment and the link for the booking of an appointment necessary for the collection of their biometric data.
The new electronic ID card (CIE), which will be issued in Italy and usually sent to the Embassy in about 6/8 weeks, needs to be collected in person by the applicant upon prior appointment.
