Procedure for requesting the transcription in Italy of marriage certificates
The marriage certificate must be delivered to the Embassy, together with the request form-
Matrimonio – Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale
of the passports of the contractors, for subsequent transmission to the Italian municipality of competence.
The request for transcription of a marriage certificate can be submitted to the Consular Chancellery by sending the originals of the aforementioned documentation by ordinary mail or private courier to the following address:

Before sending the originals, it is advisable to send a copy of all documentation to the e-mail address,
consolare.newdelhi@esteri.it for the appropriate checks.
The marriage certificate must be presented in original copy and accompanied by the following certificates:
– For documents issued in New Delhi
• Attestation of the Sub Divisional Magistrate
• Apostille issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of India
• Translation into Italian by Reference Translator (go to the list of Translators).
-For documents issued in the other States belonging to the circumscription of the Embassy:
• Attestation of the Sub Divisional Magistrate
• Attestation of the Home Secretary/NRI Office of the State Government
• Apostille issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of India
• Translation into Italian by Reference Translator (go to the list of translators).

In the event that the date of birth of the Indian citizen does not appear on the marriage certificate, it will be necessary to present to the Consular Chancellery also the birth certificate of the same, in original copy, legalized with Apostille and translated into Italian by reference translator.
Consular Wedding

The first step is the sending of a written request for the celebration of the consular marriage (available at following link : Modulistica – Ambasciata d’Italia New Delhi (esteri.it)
signed by both spouses, sent to the Consular Chancellery by regular mail or by e-mail consolare.ambnewdelhi@esteri.it accompanied by a photocopy of identity documents.
Following the feedback of the Consular Chancellery, interested parties may request publication at the Municipality of residence, if they do not reside in the consular district of the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi. The requested Municipality will issue to the interested parties or to the Consular Chancellery a certificate of publication of marriage and the delegation for the celebration of the marriage, which must be transmitted to the Consular Chancellery.
Subsequently, the Consular Chancellery will be able to confirm the date of the ceremony.

MARRIAGE CELEBRATED IN INDIA – REQUEST FOR A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHORIZATION TO THE MARRIAGE FOR THE ITALIAN CITIZEN (NO OBJECTION MARRIAGE)
The Consular Chancellery of the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi issues to Italian citizens (who request it), the Nulla Osta al Matrimonio (No Objection Married) which is requested by the Indian Authorities for the celebration of marriage.
Interested parties must personally submit to the Consular Chancellery the appropriate request (available at the following link: Modulistica – Ambasciata d’Italia New Delhi (esteri.it) including self-certification pursuant to art. 46, D.P.R 445/2000 together with the copy of the passport of the contractors and the receipt of payment of the consular fee.
Starting from Tuesday 15 February 2022, this service will be bookable exclusively through the PRENOT@AMI portal (https://prenotami.esteri.it) where you will need to register.
Before requesting an appointment, it is advisable to send a copy of all documentation to the e-mail address: consolare.newdelhi@esteri.it for the appropriate checks.
If the applicant is of divorced marital status, it will also be necessary to present a certification from the competent Italian municipality certifying that the divorce decree has been transcribed in the Civil Status Registers.
The document is issued on sight and is due to pay, by bank transfer to the Embassy, a consular fee of Euro 6 (Art. 02d of the Table of Consular Fees. For the amount, to be paid in Indian rupees, see the table of consular fees:
