{"id":6440,"date":"2026-03-11T13:50:56","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T08:20:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambnewdelhi.esteri.it\/?p=6440"},"modified":"2026-03-11T13:54:42","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T08:24:42","slug":"visit-of-a-delegation-of-italian-parliamentarians-in-the-context-of-the-mission-to-india-of-the-nato-parliamentary-assembly-partnerships-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambnewdelhi.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2026\/03\/visit-of-a-delegation-of-italian-parliamentarians-in-the-context-of-the-mission-to-india-of-the-nato-parliamentary-assembly-partnerships-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"Visit of a delegation of Italian parliamentarians in the context of the mission to India of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly-Partnerships Committee."},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"232\">From 1 to 7 March, a delegation of parliamentarians from the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">NATO Parliamentary Assembly<\/span><\/span>\u2019s Partnerships Committee visited <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">New Delhi<\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Mumbai<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"234\" data-end=\"419\">The delegation was led by the Committee Chair, Hon&#8217;ble <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Lorenzo Cesa<\/span><\/span>, and included Hon&#8217;ble <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Paolo Formentini<\/span><\/span> and Sen. <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Simona Malpezzi<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"421\" data-end=\"623\">In addition to taking part in the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Raisina Dialogue<\/span><\/span>, the delegation attended a series of side-meetings organized by the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Embassy of Italy in New Delhi<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"625\" data-end=\"806\">Engagements included a closed-door roundtable on security and defence, attended by Heads of Mission and Military Attach\u00e9s of the member countries of the <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">North Atlantic Treaty Organization<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"808\" data-end=\"994\">The program also featured interactions with Indian think tanks and researchers, which provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on recent developments in international geopolitics.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"996\" data-end=\"1544\">The Italian delegation further held meetings with several Indian parliamentarians \u2014 including <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Shashi Tharoor<\/span><\/span>, Chair of the External Affairs Committee; <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Anurag Thakur<\/span><\/span>; <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Rajeev Shukla<\/span><\/span>; <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Kartikeya Sharma<\/span><\/span>; and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Sudanshu Trivedi<\/span><\/span> \u2014 to explore opportunities for an increasingly close parliamentary dialogue between <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Italy<\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">India<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1546\" data-end=\"1852\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">During the mission, Ambassador <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Francesco Maria Tal\u00f2<\/span><\/span>, Italy\u2019s Special Envoy for <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">India\u2013Middle East\u2013Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC)<\/span><\/span>, also took part in a panel organized within the Raisina Dialogue, focusing on connectivity and cooperation initiatives across the Indo-Mediterranean region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"From 1 to 7 March, a delegation of parliamentarians from the NATO Parliamentary Assembly\u2019s Partnerships Committee visited New Delhi and Mumbai.
