NOTICE
**Temporary operational downtime of the VIS IT system
for the processing and issuance of entry visas**
Please be informed that the VIS IT system will be subject to a temporary operational downtime from
6:00 p.m. (Rome time, CET) on 12 February 2026
to
12:00 a.m. (Rome time, CET) on 18 February 2026.
This scheduled and urgent technical intervention will result in the temporary suspension of the submission and processing of visa applications, as well as the issuance of entry visas.
The suspension will affect the operations of:

the Visa Office of the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi, and
-
the visa application centres managed by the external service provider VFS.
To minimize inconvenience to users, appointments already scheduled during the affected period will be rescheduled to the days immediately before or after the downtime, with due consideration given to priority cases and urgent situations.
