Last 29 and 30 April , the Minister of Defence of Italy, Hon’ble Guido Crosetto held an official visit to Delhi, to further enhance defence collaboration between Italy and India.
During the visit, Minister Crosetto held fruitful consultations with the Raksha Mantri (Minister of Defence of India), Shri Rajnath Singh.
“It was a friendly and productive meeting” commented the Minister. “We discussed a wide range of regional and global issues, including the current situation in the Middle East. We also explored opportunities to further develop industrial cooperation for defence based on shared interests and mutual benefit”.
During the visit, Minister Singh and Minister Crosetto also exchanged the 2026-2027 Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan, a framework to enhance close collaboration between Italian and Indian Armed Forces.
During his stay in Delhi, Hon’ble Minister Crosetto had also a courtesy call on NSA Ajit Doval. As Minister commented, the cordial meeting “focused on strengthening the strategic dialogue between Italy and India on key international security issues, with particular attention to Indo-Pacific stability, maritime security, freedom of commercial routes. A shared commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation in the defence industry sector, and readiness to broaden collaboration in defence and security across all operational, training and exercise domains”.
