Embassy headquarters

The seat of the Embassy

The headquarters was built in the early nineties in the heart of the diplomatic district of New Delhi, Chanakyapuri. It is a large tree-lined compound with a park, including olive trees.

The residence of the Ambassador, the Chancellery, as well as the Institute of Culture are located within a single complex.

The Embassy was officially inaugurated on 14 March 1991 with a ceremony attended by the then Head of Mission, H.E. Gabriele Menegatti, and on the Indian side the Vice-President of the Republic, Shankar Dayal Sharma.
