This is to inform Indian citizens holding an Italian residence permit with an expiry date between 31st January and 31st December 2020 that, with effect from today and until 31st January 2021 and subject to further official updates, they will be allowed to return to Italy only through the following procedure:
• in case of a direct flight, they will not require a re-entry visa or any official declaration by the Embassy;
• in case of a non-direct flight, with a layover in another Schengen country, they will require a re-entry visa;
• in case of a non-direct flight, with a layover in a non-Schengen country, they will require an official declaration by the Embassy.
As a result, all previous regulations pertaining to the entry of Italian residence permit holders into the Italian territory, stand cancelled.
